It is important that you validate your email address as it confirms that it is yours. If you remember the "authentication procedure" from your army days, perhaps this analogy will help you understand why the challenge and the response are required. Once you have validated your email address, an admin needs to look at your registration to make sure you have used your real name as your username. If you haven't, your registration will be DELETED. If you do not respond to the validation email within 21 days the system will delete your registration information and you will have to register again.
